Receiving spare shield:
The spare or replacement shields do come with a protective film on the front and the inside of the visor. Be sure to remove the shield film before use to have proper viewing out of the shield. If you believe your shield is more yellow than desired, please check the inside of the visor for the yellow film to be removed.
- Remove the yellow film on the inside of the shield.
- Remove the clear film on the outside of the shield.

Removing the shield on Mach V or Delta V Commander Helmet:
So, pretty easy process. If you just start by opening your shield, this typically works with the helmet facing towards you. Reach down here and you’ll look actually on this shield base plate.
We have a little trigger, a little shutter you can get your fingernail on. Pull that towards you, it actually releases this part of the shield that pops off at the pivot point.
The detent, or knob to the inside of that pivot point will pop out as well.
Repeat on the other side. Again, grab this little release, pull towards you, and it will pop out. Shield is removed, simple as that.
Replacing the shield n Mach V or Delta V Commander Helmet :
Take your replacement shield, offered in various colors, tints, and mirrors.
Again, works best when the helmet’s facing forward or towards you.
1. The detent (knob) in the semi circle opening at the top of that shield plate.
2. The helmet pivot point (circle) will also need to be inserted into the helmet.
You should hear a click to know it is flush against the helmet shell. This is important to ensure the shield is properly placed to avoid any closing or breaking issues for the shield.
Line those up, simply press into place.
This is spring activated, so that jaw essentially will grab that peg and hold the shield in place. Turn around, again press it into place. Spring loaded, so it’ll grab itself. Both shields, good to go.
