Can I add the PSI system to my Mach V (non-commander) helmet without compromising its integrity?
Unfortunately, adding the PSI (Pressurized Sound Isolation) system to your Mach V helmet without compromising its integrity is not possible. The Mach V Commander helmet is designed with an integrated communication system that includes the PSI earmuff system, JBL speakers, and Cardo technology. This integration ensures optimal performance and safety.
Is there a helmet that already includes the PSI system?
Yes, the Mach V Commander helmet comes with the PSI system, JBL speakers, and Cardo technology built-in. This helmet provides seamless communication and superior sound quality, making it an excellent choice for riders looking for an all-in-one solution.
How to adjust the ear muff system to better fit my ears and head shape?
Steps to Adjust Ear Muffs Safely
1. Prepare a Clean Workspace
Lay down a soft cloth or towel to place the helmet or headset on, preventing scratches or damage.
2. Gently Remove the Ear Muffs
Slowly peel the ear muffs away from the Velcro.
Important: Avoid pulling too quickly or forcefully, as this can weaken or detach the adhesive backing on the Velcro.
3. Test Fit Without Adhesion
Hold the ear muffs in different positions against your ears while wearing the helmet or headset.
Try angling them slightly or moving them up/down or forward/backward to find the most comfortable and noise-isolating position.
4. Reattach the Ear Muffs
Press the ear muffs firmly onto the Velcro in the new position.
Hold for a few seconds to ensure a secure bond.
6. Test the Fit
Wear the helmet or headset for a few minutes to ensure comfort and proper seal.
Make further micro-adjustments if needed.
See the clickable file at the end of this article for a video showing the removal.
Important: Use caution when removing the ear muff from the air hose. Once detached, reinserting the muff into the tubing can be difficult. Additionally, the tubing may retract into the internal shell of the helmet, making retrieval challenging. To prevent this, maintain a firm grip on the tubing during removal.
How do I properly use the air pump button on my helmet?
To ensure proper use of the air pump button, do not push the air pump button past the helmet plate. The ear muffs inflate approximately 1/8" on each side and will not inflate more than that.
Pushing the button too far can cause the air muffs to leak extra air.
What should I do if my air muff leaks?
If you suspect a slow leak, follow these steps to determine the issue:
- Remove the cheekpads.
- Pump up the earmuffs to full, ensuring they are firm to the touch.
- Press one side of the ear muffs to check for leaks.
